Our Mission
Welcome to the School Sisters of Notre Dame Educational Center, a Catholic sponsored educational center for Adult women, serving Woodhaven and the surrounding Queens communities. With a rich history and commitment to excellence, we have built strong relationships with the women we have served since 2004. Our History
In 2004, three School Sisters of Notre Dame--Janice Algier, Cathy Feeney, and Jean McLaughlin--opened our Catholic Sponsored Educational Center in Jamaica, Queens. Since Day 1, these Sisters, along with every certified teacher and qualified staff member who has joined their efforts, have provided a wide range of programs and services, including GED, ESOL, Yoga, Digital Literacy, Citizenship Preparation, and Women's Health Initiatives. In 2009, our operations moved to our current location in the heart of Woodhaven, one of the most ethnically diverse neighborhoods in the country. To date, we have served over 2000 women and their families.
